The plot to HONK FOR JESUS. SAVE YOUR SOUL. is a mess. One minute, Lee-Curtis seems truly repentant, and his marriage on the mend. The next minute, he commits another act of gross narcissism or immorality, and his wife gets upset and seems ready to quit their marriage. HONK FOR JESUS. SAVE YOUR SOUL. has a strong, abhorrent, politically correct, pro-homosexual worldview attacking Christians. It also has lots of strong foul language and an explicit marital bedroom scene.

Dominant Worldview and Other Worldview Content/Elements: Very strong Romantic, politically correct worldview that negatively stereotypes Christians and promotes a strong pro-homosexual agenda, plus the leading male character in the movie preaches a false prosperity gospel several times, but there are some scenes presenting a proper Christian gospel of sin, repentance and redemption focused on Jesus, though in the end, that message doesn’t save the leading male character and his wife

Foul Language: 37 obscenities (about half are “f” words), four Jesus profanities, two GD profanities, three light profanities (one is rather blasphemous

Violence: Two men almost comes to blows, and man throws some things after he gets some bad news

Sex: Depicted marital sex and oral sex in a bedroom scene, and one scene shows a pastor being tempted into making a homosexual pass at a young man, who mentions his “boyfriend” (the pastor backs away from making the pass, though he touches the man’s cheek for a second)

Alcohol Use: No alcohol use

Smoking and/or Drug Use and Abuse: No smoking or drugs; and,

Miscellaneous Immorality: Lying, narcissism, marital difficulties, angry confrontations, and black pastor forces his black wife to wear white mime makeup to attract a crowd for their church.

HONK FOR JESUS. SAVE YOUR SOUL. is a satirical comedy about a successful Pentecostal “prosperity” preacher who lost his large congregation because of a sexual scandal bit is trying to make a big comeback, with the help of his forgiving wife. HONK FOR JESUS. SAVE YOUR SOUL. is a bit of a mess, with an emotional, foul-mouthed roller coaster that ends on a disappointing downbeat and a strong Romantic, politically correct worldview that negatively stereotypes Christians and contains a pro-homosexual agenda against Christians who morally condemn sodomy.

The movie opens with Trinitie Childs introducing her husband, Pastor Lee-Curtis Childs, and his fall from grace because of some unknown sexual scandal. It cuts rather quickly to a past sermon by Lee-Curtis, where he preaches a “prosperity gospel” and defends he and his wife’s expensive lifestyle, including a fancy car, a fancy house and a personal jet.

It’s been a year or so since they lost their congregation after the sexual scandal came to light. Most of the congregation left and started attending the church of Lee-Curtis’ young assistant pastor, Keon Sumpter. However, Lee Curtis and Trinitie are planning a comeback. They plan to open a new church on Easter Sunday, which is now a month away.

After revealing their plans, the movie shows Lee-Curtis preaching a sermon against homosexuality, saying that it undermines the institution of marriage. The movie then reveals that the scandal that lost Lee-Curtis his church involved Lee-Curtis having homosexual relationships with young men he was discipling.

As the clock ticks down to Easter, Lee-Curtis becomes more and more anxious about the success of his new church and tensions between he and his wife, Trinitie, grow.

The plot to HONK FOR JESUS. SAVE YOUR SOUL. is a bit of a mess. It has lots of emotional ups and downs. For example, one minute, Lee-Curtis seems truly repentant, and his marriage seems on the mend. The next minute, he commits another egregious act of narcissism or immorality, and his wife gets upset and seems ready to quit the marriage. Sadly, the movie ends on one of those downbeats, with Lee-Curtis becoming so delusional that he seems mentally disturbed.

Ultimately, HONK FOR JESUS. SAVE YOUR SOUL. displays a strong, abhorrent Romantic, politically correct worldview that negatively stereotypes Christians and promotes an evil pro-homosexual agenda against Christians who preach against sodomy. Apparently, leftists have a theory that any person who thinks homosexual behavior is a sin, as the Bible says, is really a latent homosexual himself. HONK FOR JESUS. SAVE YOUR SOUL. also has lots of strong foul language and a fairly explicit marital bedroom scene. Of course, real Christian theologians think the prosperity gospel that the pastor preaches in this movie is a heretical, false teaching.
